Common Questions
What if my child becomes ill?
The teacher will comfortably separate your child from the group and call you for pickup. Keep emergency contacts current. Children may return after 24 hours free of fever and symptoms, including vomiting or diarrhea. Please keep sick children home, let us know when your child will be absent, and tell us about any communicable illness. We will notify families of the affected classroom without naming the child.
What if I'm late picking up?
A late fee of $1 per minute applies after 6:00 PM. Repeated late pickups may lead to further action.
What is served for lunch?
We serve hot, nutritious, well-rounded meals. Weekly menus are posted at the school.
What happens with bad weather or closures?
Watch WYFF Channel 4 for closings and delays. Tuition credit is not given for holidays, weather, or other closures beyond our control.
Can I bring a birthday treat?
Yes, please arrange it with your child's teacher in advance so they can plan for class size and allergies. We are a peanut-free school, so please send no peanut products.
What is the sign-in policy?
A parent, guardian, or authorized adult must sign your child in and out every day. Children are released only to adults listed on the pickup authorization form, and photo ID may be requested. You can update the form anytime in person or in writing.
Can my child bring toys from home?
We provide everything your child needs. Each child has a cubby, but please leave special or expensive toys at home, since we can't be responsible for lost or broken items.
What should I pack for the first day?
Under 2: diapers or pull-ups, wipes, ointment, a blanket, 2 changes of clothes, and 3 labeled bottles or sippy cups. Ages 2 and up: 2 changes of clothes and a nap blanket.
What if my child cries when I leave?
It's normal, and most children settle within five minutes. You're welcome to wait nearby or leave a number, and we'll gladly send updates. Please let us know about any big changes at home (a new baby, a move, a loss) so we can care for your child well. Everything you share is kept confidential.
